johndon Posted November 17, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2011 Cookie at Home We did our own thing in Wellington by catching the shuttle bus from the ship to the CBD then walked up to Parliament House and took the free conducted tour of that which lasted for about 2 hours. We then walked back and caught the shuttle back to the ship but if you liked you could catch the cable tram u p to the botanical gardens. Tnhis isnt far from Parliament house. The ship offers a tour of Parliament House which they charge about $60 for. You could also try the tour operators that usually hang around on the wharf. They have various tours on offer which are a lot cheaper than the ships organised tours. John

It's the grand price of $3.50 each way. http://www.wellingtoncablecar.co.nz/index.php?id=930 Regards, Ann

Link to the timetable for the free shuttle to Zealandia. The stop at the top of the cable car would be ideal. http://www.visitzealandia.com/Site/Zealandia_Home/Inside/Visit/Directions.aspx#shuttle
