Cascino question

I'm sure this is a very silly question, but on our first cruise we really didn't spend any time in the cascino so I'm not sure how it works. Are you using actual cash for the machines or your card?

Cash. You can draw money off of your card at the cashier or at the tables, but that will come with a 3% fee.

The fee is really quite irritating. I know that people would take just deposit large amounts of cash to get credit card points and then not use that cash to gamble, but they should at least allow you to take out a smaller amount without a fee (maybe up to $500 throughout the whole cruise). The cashless system works great everywhere else, but it is discouraging when I pass through the casino, develop a random itch to play some blackjack, and then have to decide whether to (a) suck up the 3% fee; (b) waddle back to my cabin; or © not gamble. Surprisingly, there is a great lack of consistency in my decisions haha.
