We are on this cruise on Jan 19th 2012. What local currency do you need when visiting Petra?

we did this cruise last Jan and I can't remember what the currency is, but don't worry you can get your money on board ship. We didn't use very much cash at all, if you are going on Thomson's trip to Petra the meal is included.

Just have some one pound coins with you and possibly a few euros, meal included so very little to spend any money on.

Its a great trip, possibly one of the best we have ever done, lunch was at the Movenpick Hotel the best excursion meal we have ever had.

very little to buy, all locals are happy to take pound coins, the same at cairo, you need egyptian pounds for any official shops or to visit mummy room
