SuzCruise Posted December 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2011 Does anyone know where RSSC docks in Roatan? We'll be on the Mariner later this month and can't seem to find this info anywhere. Thanks!
shuguley Posted December 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2011 As I remember the name of the port was Mahagony Bay. I also remember it was VERY nice, clean and modern.
thinfool Posted December 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Does anyone know where RSSC docks in Roatan? We'll be on the Mariner later this month and can't seem to find this info anywhere. Thanks! The commecial dock is Coxen Hole. Mahogany Bay is a private dock owned and used by Carnival Corp. ships. Occasionally an NCL ship uses it too. Carnival keeps Mahogany Bay pretty busy with its own vessels. I would guess that you will be at Coxen Hole...but may be wrong. FYI, if you were on the Navigator you would def. be at Coxen Hole. It is listed there. No listing for your ship. :(
JAYinNC Posted December 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Recent information on the website for Honduras shows that Regent ships use Mahagony Bay as opposed to Coxen Hole. We were just at Mahagony Bay on a Carnival Cruise. it is a great port...perhaps the best of a western Carribean itinerary. Very clean, plenty of sohpws, private beach, restaurants. If you don't want to go exploring, you would be just fine there. Coxen Hole is busy and crowded..but an iteresting place. We rented scooters and explored the eastern end of the island before going to West End and having a great lunch
debijaynes Posted December 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Navigator docked at Mahogany Bay 11/25. Lovely shopping area if you are interested in that type of stuff-we did not explore but heard tales of some great bargains. The planting is quite lovely and it is VERY clean. SuzCruise Posted December 6, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted December 6, 2011 Finally heard back from RSSC on the subject and they say we will be docked at Coxen Hole. Since we will be there on New Years day we were thinking we might want to have an easy morning and enjoy the caviar brunch instead of getting up early to catch one of the excursions. We really like the idea of being able to walk to a beach in the afternoon. I know that is possible at Mahogany Bay, but how about at Coxen Hole? Thanks for the help!
