tbmrt Posted December 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2011 What is this about? Different than standard Latitudes Party I take it? Does a silver member get invited to one or both? Thank you

Does a silver member get invited to one or both?Thank you Both. They are about the same just not all the sales pitches and give always at the silver, gold, platinum party. It is usually just 45 minutes.

dublell Posted December 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 8, 2011 What is this about? Different than standard Latitudes Party I take it? Does a silver member get invited to one or both?Thank you The silver (and up) party is separate from the standard one. It's usually held in a bar (the ones I've attended have been in the Star Bar) and most of the ship's officers are there to visit. As I recall, the food and drinks are a little better, and the serving isn't as mass production. Of course, all this is in the past. There may now be enough people in these categories that they'll need to have multiple sessions or hold it in a larger venue like the Spinnaker. I'll find out next month, I guess. dublell Posted December 8, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 8, 2011 how do you know when and where? is it in the daily? also how do you prove your level? You'll receive an invitation (in an envelope) delivered to your room. It's usually on one of the last sea days.
big green Posted December 8, 2011 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2011 The new rewards program has one latitudes party for all levels-- it then has a separate party for gold and platinum ( silver is not included) Check the new latitudes rewards page on the NCL webiste--this is effective jan 1, 2012. Separate from the rewards program there is also a private suite part if you are in a suite (not mini suites). BG

Bg Just did......the earlier pdf (released last week) included Silver for the Exclusive Onboard Gathering but the website now only shows Gold & Platinum. Everything else looks the same as the "advance" pdf.
chars Posted December 9, 2011 #9 Share Posted December 9, 2011 When I actually log into "my account" and look at the tier benefits, it still lists "Exclusive onboard gathering" as a silver perk.

The main NCL web page for the rewards does not have it which makes sense-- to many silvers for an exclusive party-- check the latitudes online booklet-- also call latitudes to verify--but I believe the main web site and booklet are correct. crystalaziza Posted December 9, 2011 #13 Share Posted December 9, 2011 There is usually wine & cheese, grapes, crackers etc. at the 2nd Party. Star Bar has been a frequent gathering place, over looking the pool. No prizes, just a small speech from one of the officers if the captain is not present. Also usually someone playing piano music in the background. For me personally, I much more enjoyed the first Latitudes party. Love the rum punch............:D
conny111 Posted March 4, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 4, 2014 3 months ago on the Jade we were only invited for the silver latitudes party, but not for the standard. Was this a mistake, that we didn't get an invitation for the standard? Or is this normal now? We will be on the Spirit in 2 weeks and so I wonder, if we also only get an invitation for the silver one and not for the standard!?

Or is this normal now?We will be on the Spirit in 2 weeks and so I wonder, if we also only get an invitation for the silver one and not for the standard!? I wonder if it depends on the ship? On the Dawn in December, I received invitations to the normal Latitudes party and the silver party that had the wine and cheese set up. Both were in the Spinnaker lounge. Had a wonderful time at both and love that NCL still does this. :) Between these, the CAS gathering, the suite guest gathering, and comped drinks in the casino, my bar bill was practically non-existant. Thanks, NCL! :D
FireEater Posted March 5, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 5, 2014 We have not step foot on a NCL, but when we do, we earn 21 points (Gold) next year. 7 for 7 day cruise, 7 for booking a suite, and 7 for booking more than 9 months out. If seeing is believing, we will have 3 parties..:D

samiam0403 Posted March 5, 2014 #24 Share Posted March 5, 2014 We are in suites, when is that gathering? Is it with the captain/officer M&G? If by captain/officer M&G, you mean the one for suite guests, then yes. :D The officers also show up for Cruise Critic M&Gs, but that's a different animal. I don't remember when the Captain M&G for suite guests was on the Dawn or the Sun, but the one on the Sun was up in the Spinnaker Lounge and the Dawn was in the Star Bar. Both were lovely and we had a wonderful time meeting everyone. You'll receive an invitation in your suite with all the details. Although now that I think about it, the one on the Dawn was definitely on Dress Up or Not night... CAS stands for Casino At Sea. :) Yes, it does. I meant I didn't know what the name of the CAS get together was actually called. :) Trust me, 2 comped cruises later I definitely know what CAS means. They're some of my very favorite people. :D
