carriesavvy Posted December 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2011 I understand P&O are now adding tips to your onboard account. I prefer to pay tips according to the service received, if I go out to a restaurant I do not expect a tip to be added to my bill, but to pay a tip I chose according to the service I have received, I am not sure when tips became an expectation rather than a reward to exceptional service, many professions and jobs do not get paid tips, yet they give a good service, so why is it in only certain groups that tipping is expected. Does anyone know which cruiselines still allow you to tip yourself?

Spend a little time researching the auto-tip arrangement here on CC. There are a TON of threads that go into it rather deeply. You may have a different view after you find out how it really works.
