Virginoftheseas Posted December 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2011 So we get the final bill in our cabin the night before we get to home port: Do we have to sign a copy and bring it someplace to verify we have no problems with the charged amount? Or simply by not complaining is acceptance that its correct and we agree to the amount?
mamasue Posted December 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2011 We got a final bill very early in the morning.... You don't have to do anything if you're happy with it, and you want to keep it on the same card.:)
AmoMondo Posted December 16, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 16, 2011 Might be different on US cruises now, but on all the MSC cruises I've been on, they give you 2 copies and ask you to sign one copy and drop it off at reception. I suppose if you don't do that they will still process the charge against your card

I've always just received the final bill and as long as it was ok -- which it always has been -- didn't have to do anything. I suspect you're right though that they will process the charge whether you return the signed copy or not! Can you check your bill via the TV on board? If not, is the customer service desk good about giving you print outs during the cruise. I never wait until the end to make sure everything is ok. I can confirm that on all my MSC cruises the final accounting form asked that one copy be signed and left at the reception or accounting office prior to disembarking. You can check your on-board account day to day on the interactive TV in your cabin and/or ask the accounting office for a print out if you wish. This I did on the Melody which didn't have the interactive TV system.

After being in almost all if not all the MSC ships, you can remember such a fine detail about the Melody !! No wonder you are so passionate about MSC: you remember the finest of all details !! Only devotion and great memory is able to give such precise fine detail !!!Once more, Congrats CapriCruiser !!

I almost feel like I could start a FAQs based just what I've learned from posters like you and AmoMondo and All Aboard. Since I'll be on a newer ship, MSC Magnifica, I suspect I'll be able to use the interactive tv, but good to know that the accounting office can help me out if that isn't an option. I like to keep an eye on the onboard account to get any errors fixed as soon as possible rather than dealing with any craziness that last night/day. AmoMondo Posted December 17, 2011 #9 Share Posted December 17, 2011 They also send an interim bill to your cabin, towards the end of the cruise, so you can check it up to that stage and approachnthe accounts desk if there's anything you need to query. Not really such a fine and difficult detail to recall if you know anything about the fleet. The modern Musica & Fantasia classes of ships have all the modern amenities, the smaller and older Lirica class ships have some of the mod cons of their newer bigger, sisters but the little old Melody is in a class of her own (literally). Now if Capricruiser could recall the colour scheme and design of every cabin he'd been in, that would be impressive recall.

I bet I could! Especially since I always take a photo of the cabin interiors first thing.

All aboard?? Posted December 17, 2011 #13 Share Posted December 17, 2011 I usually register my card and then as I win money at the casino or at bingo i load the cash as well. Often is the case I have left a cruise with nothing to pay as a result. What people need to understand about the above though is that your CC will have values blocked and it takes a week to have the funds unblocked. And MSC have some really great details onboard their ships, that's one of the reason I love to sail with them:) And there are many of us. Can't wait for my next MSC Cruise on the brand new MSC Divina. Back to the final bill, I have never experienced any problems with the charged amounts, allways 100% correct. I have a problem with them.......making a person realise that they have a total disregard for the value of money before their morning coffee on the last day of a fantastic cruise is the cruelest thing anyone can do (the last one i got was over 4000EUR for a 7 night cruise in YC! :D)
