What shore excursions (if any) are recommend in Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten? Is the cruise terminal far from the downtown area in these port? mdvlprof Posted December 31, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2011 DS is wheelchair-bound. St Thomas - Henry's EEE Tours has a van with a lift. Shopping area near the pier. Didn't have luck finding tour in St Maarten. Downtown is a hike, but there is a shopping area at the pier. Don't know about Nassau. If your hubby can walk a little, taxi may be the way to go. cb at sea Posted December 31, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2011 The ship docks right next to the straw market/shopping area in Nassau.....if I remember, it's slightly uphill there....probably about a 4 block area from end to end.
24ktop Posted January 2, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Thanks! He will have an electric scooter but he gets too tired if he walks any distance. Since it it uphill a little, might not be a bad idea for him to ride his scooter since the shopping district is about 4 blocks square
Fl cruiser 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2012 We will be on the Oasis doing the same ports. My friend uses a walker but is taking her scooter. In Nassau we were just going to go to the straw market. In St Thomas were were going to do the shops, maybe take a cab up and have a banana drink. Then is St. Maarten we were thinking about renting a car and going to the the French side and to Moho beach to watch the planes. Does this sound do able with a scooter. The scooter breaks down easy to put in the trunk of a cab or rental car.
