maggiesmom121 Posted January 3, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2012 Anyone else have the problem and hopefully a solution. Last year I sailed in a modified room on the Carnival Pride. I had a huge bathroom with a roll in shower but used the shower bench provided. Every morning as I took my shower the water flooded the bathroom. Walking out of the shower was dangerous as water was backed up waiting to drain. Then I could not walk back into the bathroom as the floor was wet. (Had to remember to brush my teeth before showering and moved my make-up ect to the desk area. I tried everything I could think of--I tried situating the shower curtain in different positions, I used the hand shower and tried to direct the spray towards the drain and I lined the bottom of the curtain with towel rolls. My cabin stewart would of course clean up the mess and wipe the floor but that was after I dressed and left the room. I am super excited to have booked my second cruise (Glory modified balcony) but this situation needs to be resolved. Suggestion??? Thanks Jan

We used a mote with large towels - a second row will help. Ask your room steward to set it up for you on the previous evening. cb at sea Posted January 3, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2012 I would call maintainence and see if they could 'free" the drain, allowing the water NOT to back up! But, yes....towels around the shower may also help!
kitty9 Posted January 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2012 Unfortunately, that's the main problem with handicap accessible cabins. It doesn't matter what you do, the water gets everywhere because of the way the shower has to be set up for a wheel in shower.
WEELYNCRUZER Posted January 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2012 Try RCCL. IN have been on 26 RCCL cruises and have never had that problem with their acssible showers unless the seas are extremely rough. I just got oss the Celebrity Solstice and again huad no problem.
