Highseez Posted January 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2012 Not sure if Celebrity Line caters to teenagers...Sailed on Disney, RCCL, NCL & Carnival. Looking at spring break on Eclipse, any suggestions if two teenage sons will have things to do on board.
Rare ghstudio Posted January 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2012 Having raised two teenagers, one boy and one girl, I think I can accurately say that there is no cruise line that caters to, or could cater to two teenagers. However, having said that, at spring break time, there is hardly a cruise that doesn't have a significant number of teens....so your teens will be just as active or bored as all the others that are doing that with them :) Celebrity does a pretty good job of having activities for most everyone, although they will pale to Carnival and NCL and even RCL who have water slides, climbing walls, zip lines and probably by now, they have installed bungee jumping down the atriums in the ships. Did I mention that Celebrity also doesn't have a "hairy chest" contest? You teens will find other teens to hang out with...they will spend a great deal of time in the pool(s), playing basketball and yes, perhaps they will also find teens of the opposite sex which might make any other activities far less important :) On the other hand, if they need/want back to back organized activities, then I would suggest that Carnival, NCL, RCL might be better choices. dkjretired Posted January 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2012 Teenagers are difficult, they seem to meet people and go their own way. A lot depends on when you are going, Spring Break covers about 6 weeks or so from the Presidents holiday until Easter.
bighairtexan Posted January 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2012 Royal Caribbean and Carnival will have more (many more) teenagers at any given time. But during any school breaks, Celebrity will have more teenagers than they usually do. Once my kids got into their early 20's they preferred Celebrity or Princess. In their teens, not so much. It's not that Celebrity doesn't have good programs, but I find that teens especially would rather "hang out together" and the fewer the teens, the fewer the choices of buddies.
