Hawaii - Tender ports

I thought I read somewhere that there is one tender port on the 14 day Hawaii itinerary on the Golden...can't find it now. Was I dreaming this?

Lahaina (Maui) is a tender port. I believe Kauai is also a tender port. Hilo and Honolulu are docked.

When tendering, there will be two crew members who assist each passenger on and off from the tender platform and the tender. There's a platform on the tender that you step onto so under most conditions, its fairly easy. I've seen them lift wheelchairs and assist people with mobility problems, seemingly effortlessly.

It's a short (maybe minutes) trip to the pier. Just tell them it's like getting a free excursion.

It may not be part of Princess' Hawaii itinerary, but we have tender at Kona as well.

Lahaina (Maui) and Kona are the only two tender port I know of.

Kona was a tender port when Princess was doing the 15 itinerary to Hawaii...so sad it was dropped and made a 14 day junket. Now the only tender port is Lahaina.

As Pam said, there is plenty of help getting on and off. When my mother was in her 80's there was always plenty of help for her! Also the ride itself is fun because you get to see how big your ship really is! ;)

The Sapphire will make a stop at Kona on its 10/20 departure rather than a stop at Hilo. I assume Kona will be a tender port as it has been in the past. If so, both Kona and Maui will be tender ports.

Sorry to be missing Kona - my best friend's son bartends at a restaurant at the dock and it would have been fun to surprise him....but we're on the Golden and don't stop @ Kona.
