Taxi for the day?

We are looking for a recommended taxi driver to take us around the island. Any suggestions? We'd like to make arrangements in advance.

There are no taxis on Caye Caulker! The only motorized vehicles are golf carts. You can pretty much walk the whole island.

There are taxis on Caye Caulker, but they are golf cart taxis. You can get them at the airport, at the split, and at the boat dock. You can usually send a runner or ask someone to get someone to whistle for one. You can walk the island and also rent your own golf cart. But you may get an island tour by taking a taxi and asking the driver to just take you around and show you things. Gas is very expensive in Belize, but taxis are cheap. I can't quote you specific rates, but when you get there just ask them what they would charge you to take you around the island.

 

I am leaving for San Pedro on Thursday and I can't wait to get "home."
