Seven Mile Beach? Resort Day Pass? On our own?

Would like to go to Seven Mile beach for a few hours while in Grand Cay. Can anyone suggest a stretch of beach? Should we pay for resort day pass or is there a public stretch of Seven Mile Beach?

Popular sections of Seven Mile Beach with good free/cheap facilities are Royal Palms, Sea Grape and Tiki Beach, and lots of pictures, reviews, etc. can be found in the other threads in this forum.

I actually had a similar question. Is Grand Cayman safe enough to head to 7 Mile Beach on our own or should we stick with an excursion through the ship? We've never been there before and I know it's recommended to stick with the cruise lines's excursions in some ports (for example, Belize).

It is a first world country and you'll have no safety issues grabbing a cab or taking the bus to the beach, nor any issues when on the beach (no pan handlers, beach vendors, etc...).

 

While your wallet may be much lighter than before you ported, it probably will not be the result of a pickpocket...:D
