Seven Mile Beach on our own?

Can we take a taxi to Seven mile Beach and if so how much money are we talking about? Is it easy to do from the pier? Are there public areas with bars and restaurants that we don't need a day pass to go to? We'd like to find a place to have a beach day with loungers and a few drinks and not have to do an excursion to do this.

$4-6 US per person each way, depending on which section of the beach you head to. Popular sections of Seven Mile Beach are Royal Palms, Sea Grape and Tiki Beach, and lots of pictures, reviews, etc. can be found in the other threads in this forum.
