Where are they taking me?

We've booked a private excursion to snorkel with the sting rays, but are not going to the sandbar. So where are they taking me? They said we are going to the west side of the island. I want friendly sea life.

Maybe ask the company for the name of the reef or other location?

 

If you have the name, there's lots of snorkel/dive reviews online that would give you more info about what the experience might be like.

Maybe they are taking you to the original Sting Ray City which is a dive and snorkel site in about 12 feet of water (no standing unless you are really, really tall or are on stilts).

 

Sting Ray Sand Bar (where most excursions go, since swimming is not required) is a nearby, but different location that is sometimes interchanged with Sting Ray City when being referenced.
