CruzerKat Posted April 14, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2005 We will be getting into Victoria kinda late and would have time to do Butchardt Gardens with Princess shore excursion but it will be at night. They say it is lit up at night but I'm wondering how great it will be compared to seeing all the colors etc.during the daylight. Has anyone done the gardens at night? jff50 Posted April 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2005 It has been many years since I saw it at night and my recollection is that it was fabulous. I have seen it several times since during the day. We are on the Sapphire Princess on August 21st this year, and are planning on doing the Butchardt Gardens shore excursion. patricia2 Posted April 14, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2005 Oh yes, I highly recommend it. cruiser2004 Posted April 15, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2005 We love the gardens in the daytime and at night. If forced to choose I would say that I like it better at night. We were there a few years ago and found out the hard way that the gardens was not open at night before June 1. Don't know when you are going or what the current schedule is for the gardens. I think you will enjoy it at night.
Budget Queen Posted April 15, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2005 It's absolutely a wonderful trip at night. I've gone both day and night, if of interest- go. :)
cruiseryyc Posted April 15, 2005 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2005 If there is a ship in port, the Gardens will be open at night - even before June 1st. The money spent by cruise travellers makes it worth their while to stay open.
CruzerKat Posted April 15, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted April 15, 2005 Thanks everyone! We are going on our cruise July 3rd and Victoria is our last stop. I was hoping we would have time to see the city as well as the gardens but we do not. That was another reason for my dilema as well. The city of Victoria looks beautiful and it is a choice between the Gardens and a city tour and of course both at night. Darn!!! I wish we had more time!
