Does Carnival still do the free liquor tasting on the first night?

I've found that its only on some ships and some dont do it. Depends on the ship.

 

If they have it, I always miss it usually because Im still at early dinner.

It has been offered on just about every cruise I have taken. Usually on the first night.

yes, its a taste not a drink...go quick or it might evaporate. And, its not all the liquor in the store, its just select flavors.

 

Still a better deal than inch of gold.

on the Pride everyone just gathered around but on the Fascination they made people get in a line

I learned that I liked Cruzan pineapple rum at a liquor tasting on the Fascination a few years ago. Since then, I always attempt to go to the liquor tasting thinking I might find something new, but I have never been able to wait in such a long line. Crowds were worse than the watch sale this past summer on the Dream. Crazy.

I have seen lines form. It is not worth it to me.

Want free? We like to go to the farewell party. There are free drinks there. I have never seen it advertised. Just a little blurb in the daily events time listing. It is usually around dinner time when most are packing if not at dinner. On the Dream, a bartender recognized us and remembered what we had ordered through out the week. We got those drinks.

so true, everyone packed like sardines for taste (not a shot) of whatever they are trying to sell you that day, really not worth it
