Aussie71 Posted January 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2012 Just wondering how the grading on the Pacific Dawn works (e.g. difference between G & GG etc.) Also, how you know if your view is obstructed or not?
Aus Traveller Posted January 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2012 To use your example - G and GG. On the 'grading' list, the higher up the list the more desirable the cabin is seen to be and the higher the price. Both G and GG on deck 5, G is further towards the bow so would have more movement in heavy seas so is regarded as less desirable than GG. Therefore GG would be priced slightly higher than G. Personally, I don't think a cabin is better just because it is on a higher deck, but I agree with the pricing of cabins towards the bow (that they should be priced less than those midship). Obtructed view cabins are marked in the grading list and will have lifeboats fully or partly obstructing the view, although there will still be daylight coming in the window. Some obstructed view cabins are better than others. In choosing one, look at the deck plan for deck 8 and select one that sits between the lifeboats.
