brandba Posted January 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2012 We are going to be in Barcelona for 3 days pre-cruise in July. Has anyone used the Barcelona card? I'm trying to decide whether it makes sense to buy if for a couple of days. The two day card is 29 euro and includes all public transportation. For example, a 10-pack of metro(subway) tickets is €8 IIRC;and single rides were on €1.40. €29 would buy a lot of metro tickets.

andynapril Posted February 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2012 We used it. However, it was our first trip to Europe and we liked the ease of having a card with unlimited metro use. We used it to get free entrance to the Christopher Columbus monument, and some other discounts. We exchanged our voucher right in the airport and were able to use the card for the train into Barcelona from the airport.
trabeler Posted February 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 5, 2012 We recently spent four days pre-cruise in Barcelona. We decided against the card as it wasn't economical compared to using T10 cards for transportation and the discounts weren't that great. After sketching out your itinerary, you should be able to guesstimate the number of subway/bus trips and also figure out the possible savings due to discounts... this should make your decision pretty clear.
