The vibe of a Princess Cruise...is it right for us?

We came or from Carnival and are mid 50s. Pam said it perfectly. I enjoy shorts and felt at home Onboard. We stepped it up once for formal night and then skipped the rest. We had a great cruise. My wife enjoyed the shows, they are well done. I enjoyed the casino. It's quieter but all the elements for a vacation are there without the hype and chaos. You can be as crazy as you wish.

While not advertised Princess will also bring you dinner to your room from the MDR menu. We used that almost every night to dine on our balcony with our own wine. It was awesome

I think the OP has been asking about clubs for a little night life. For the younger crowd's music and dancing, isn't there only the disco/nightclub?? just the one venue?

 

The lounges and the wheelhouse cater to more of a mix but seemed to be geared older than 30 to me.

Skywalkers is really variable by itinerary and sailing. I've had 7NTs to Alaska where Skywalkers was jumping at 0100, and others where the ship was *dead* by the second show. Same in the Caribbean and on Coastals.

 

FWIW, I've been sailing with Princess since I was 4, and I'm now in my mid-30s; I like to sleep late, stay up late and uh, frankly, I loathe kids. Princess really works well for me in that regard (Late-Riser breakfast options at lunch in the MDR, 24-hour access to delicious foods in the IC, Lotus Pool/Sanctuary). You can get just as stupid doing pool deck games on Princess as Carnivore - see also, Bar Wars.

We have cruised a lot of lines and we like Princess. Kind of like staying at a Hampton Inn versus a four seasons. Good value for the money. We did a b2b last year and had a wonderful time. A great range of ages and a lot of different things to do. We met a great couple through cruise critics and had so much fun.

Some people really dressed up...like ball gowns with trains..(a bit much) and others were a lot more casual. Something for everyone. I find Royal Carribean and Princess comperible. Hal a bit older. We didn't enjoy Celebrity. really bad food. Seabourn and Regent are our favorite but a bit $$$.

See, that's what I like about Princess. I live in Alaska and the last time I wore a tie was at my grandmother's funeral last year. So, I want to dress like I'm on vacation. I'm bringing my Tux and plan on dressing "up":)
