Will there be taxis waiting at the Port of Tampa?

We are planning on taking a taxi from the Port of Tampa to the airport after we disembark. Are there usually taxis there waiting like at the airport or should we call ahead of time to have one waiting for us? Thanks!

Several cabs just waiting for customers every time we have cruised from Tampa. Flat rate fare for the cab from port to TPA airport is $25+tip. Good luck! :)

The last time we cruised from Tampa on Carnival they escorted those with early flights off the ship at 9:00. Our bags were waiting and there was almost no line at customs; we jumped into a cab for the 15 minute/$25+tip ride to TPA. We were checked in, cleared through TSA and and were happy to be sitting at our gate at just after 10:00 for an 11:45 flight.

 

Spending your cruise worried about making an early flight is not my idea of fun :(; I'd look for something after 11:00 and preferably closer to noon to be safe - sometimes the fog will delay ship arrivals into Tampa, or there are delays coaused by customs/immigration. Give yourself some margin for error. :cool:

Sailed twice out of Tampa.

First time on the Legend-- regular debark zone 26 - off the ship around 10:00 -- at the airport by 10:45

 

Second time on the Inspiration, Did the Self Assist debark. off the ship by 8:50 --- at the airport by 9:30 am.
