peverill396@live.co.uk Posted February 2, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2012  why do people persist in smoking on the ventura in areas that say no smoking allowed, when approached they got very upset by the staff about being told to smoke elswhere. so make them a room with no windows and stick them in it on the end of the ship .

DAN 60 Posted February 3, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2012 As we know smoking is allowed in certain areas on all ship's. However this is done by a minority of passengers, but seems to upset so many others. So what i propose is a choice of a non smoking ship. But not the VENTURA i think it's to far gone, it would have to be something like the ORIANA. After all if smoking is about choice let the non smokers have some choice. Better still only let smokers cruise in March and October.

Somerset Cruiser Posted February 3, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2012 Or not at all  Yep confine them to their own homes, or maybe set up smoking camps and detain them therein.

At least that way those who smoke can do so on their balconies without upsetting the non-smokers. Open decks should generally be non-smoking but with a nice place for the smokers. I don't smoke, but those that do should be able to without feeling bad about it.:p
Thejuggler Posted February 11, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2012 Expect P & O to ban smoking in balconies very soon. Princess have just done so. The only area which bothered me on Ventura was the covered area between the pools on the port side as this is also where the toilets are, walking through the fug remided me of a 1970s tap room!
