Rare orville99 Posted February 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2012 At port how much a pound of coffee going for? We will be buying some and co-workers are asking for it too. $15-$20/lb. Be very careful where you purchase, however. Some stores sell short-dated or past expiry dated coffee; others sell knock-off beans as "blue mountain"; and some brands apparently have no idea how to roast beans properly. We've given up trying to find a decent and consistent supplier:( But, on the bright side, Medxican coffee is even more inconsistent:eek:
Cliftoncruz Posted February 3, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2012 When ever we visit Jamaica we purchase several pounds of Jablum Blue Mountain Coffee (Beans- we grind ourselves). Jablum's favor has always been consistent. On our recent cruise which was a B2B on the Voyager that stopped at Falmouth twice. We had an interesting experience when purchasing Jablum. On our first visit the vendors were selling the coffee for $22 per pound. We were able to get it for $18 per pound. When we returned the following week the vendors were selling Jablum for $26 to $28 per pound. When we told the vendor the week before we had purchased the coffee for $18 per pound. After several minutes of discussion we purchased the coffee for $18 per pound. Also, several fellow cruisers near us were able to purchase the coffee for $18. One phrase that the vendor told my DW was, "You're killing me." The only difference between the first visit and the second visit, we were the only ship in port on the second visit. Cigar Dude Posted February 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2012 Also, there is Blue Mountain and Blue Mountain Blend. Stick with Blue Mountain from reputable dealers.

Had to talk her down from $
