Connecting Cabins & Food ?'s from a newbie.

Hello,

 

My husband and I would like to take our children on a cruise in the connecting family balcony cabins. My question is can we put the kids in one room and the adults in the other room? (Son is 8, daughter 6) We would leave the door connecting the cabins open. Does NCL frown on this? Do we each have to have one kid in each room?

 

Also my son has a gluten allergy and I have heard that Norweigan is a good cruise line to go on for people with food issues. We would like to try specialty restaurants as well, would he be accommodated in the french, italian and steakhouse?

You will be required to register one adult in each room. Most cruiselines don't care where everyone sleeps, but you must put an adult's name on the room. That will also give you a key to that room. Same for the kids - one will end up with a key to your door and one with a key to your door.

Yes, NCL will accommodate your dietary needs in all of the restaurants. Just to be sure to let them know long ahead of time what is needed.

Yes...once you've boarded, they don't care who sleeps where! That's what almost every family with connecting cabins will do....kids in one room...adults in the other. While you can't LOCK the connecting doorway, you can close the door if you want some privacy!

I have sailed on the Jewel and the Jade with my Gluten allergies and never had an issue but I don't know how sensitive your son is. On both ships I met with the Dining Room Manager upon embarkation and we went over my concerns. Each night they asked where I would eat the next evening and they tailored the menu to my needs. I had the most amazing pizza on both ships in the Italians specialty resturants.Not once did I have an issue.

 

Let your PCC, travel agent, etc. know of the allergy and follow up by calling NCL.
