Accessable Rooms

After getting us excited about the great deal we got on our next cruise, our TA called us back to say that he had accidentally booked us in an "accessable" room. Fortunately, we were still able to get a decent room. So after the fact, even on embarcation day, would we be allowed to request a change to that room if it wasn't occupied? It appears to be slightly larger, yet costs less than a regular room.

We were "upgraded" to an ocean view room in a hotel a few years ago & the room was accessible. I don't know if it was any larger than other rooms but we both found the bathroom extremely awkward. If we had been staying more than 1 night I definitely would have asked to be moved to the garden view we were paying for!

On the ship, the larger cabin would be nice but the bathroom, although bigger, won't necessarily be better. The sink & shower, designed for a wheel chair user, are really unsettling when you're geared to the bathroom floor being dry when you step out of the shower & having someplace to put some of your toiletries.

The size may look good, but the reality may not be quite what you expect.
