Does anybody know if there is a left-luggage facility at Venice Santa Lucia train station?

We will be arriving early morning on the overnight sleeper ex Paris and want to make the best of the day in Venice before boarding; but will need to dump our bags somewhere to do so...

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

There is a left luggage at the Venice S.L. train station. We didn't use it, but I understand there is such a facility.

Thanks for that... I also just found this on another well known travel site...

There is a staffed left luggage office in the main Santa Lucia station, to the left leaving the train platforms, along platform n°1.

Now to the next bit of our planning stage :-)

There are two left luggage options in the area. The first is at the train station. From the Trenitalia web site, here are the opening hours and charges (http://www.grandistazioni.it/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=09dd82a9ec4eb110VgnVCM1000003f16f90aRCRD):

Opening Hours

7/7 days

06.00 - 24.00

Charges

5,00 € the first 5 hours

0,70 € /hour from 6th to 12th hour

0,30 € /hour from 13th hour on

The other option is the left luggage office at Piazzale Roma. Information on that can be found on their web site here (http://www.trasbagagli.it/en/index.shtml?services)

Hours

Every day from 6.00 AM to 9.00 PM

Fees

€ 5,00 per piece for each 24h

As you can see, if you're going to leave your things for five hours or less the cost is the same. For longer periods of time the Piazzale Roma location is less expensive.
