Bringing Liquor Aboard

We had a problem on NCL in December. They confiscated liquor in Miami. It's the first time this has happened to us. NCL x-rayed every piece of baggage before it was delivered to cabins. In the past we've had no problem bringing it in our luggage on Princess ships. We are not looking for a problem with bringing liquor aboard in our luggage in Fort Lauderdale.

 

Has anyone had recent experience with liquor being confiscated by Princess?

No problem with Princess.

 

I believe that NCL only allows wine in your carryon. They charge $15 for each bottle brought onboard. You can then consume it anywhere.

You aren't supposed to bring any on for RCCL. I think Princess is okay with wine, but not sure about other alcohol.

On Princess you are alowed to bring on wine and they pretty much turn a blind eye other alcohol. NCL is very strict as are some of the other lines.

Princess it semms to me tends to be more lenient on alcohol, particularly in sailings that depart from non US ports.

Carnival will confiscate any alcohol in your bags and hold it till end of cruise.

John Heald (Carnival's senior CD) posted today that they confiscated 103 bottles of booze on one ship yesterday.

We heard that Carnival confiscated liquor out of checked luggage on the Splendor on our recent cruise. I saw people claiming their alcohol on the last morning. I was going to try to smuggle, but chickened out. Instead, we ordered 2 bottles from room service when we got to our cabin - delivered almost immediately! :)
