Wine/Princess/Vancouver

Hi All,

 

We're sailing Island Princess from Vancouver in June, flying in the day before, staying at the Pan Pacific.

 

Question: Where can we buy wine to take on board? And, what is the limit per person?

The official limit is one bottle of wine per adult. Princess rarely enforces this restriction

Your best bet for purchasing wine in Vancouver in Vancouver is the BC Liquor Store in Harbour Centre which is on Cordova and Seymour Sts about 2 blocks east of the Pan Pacific. If you are there on a Sunday then there are some private stores that are open but they tend to be more expensive that the gov't stores but not always. On a Sunday the BC Liquor Store at Bute and Alberni Sts is open from 11 am to 6 pm.

Princess is usually not strict on the amount of wine brought on board. Some people bring on a lot more than one bottle, like a case. I usually bring on three or four bottles and have never had a problem.

We just bring our own wine in our luggage, have never had any 'issues' (i.e., breakage). We've used wine bags and wine diapers. Like the wine bags better (can find both online).

Last Princess cruise we took, we had 4 bottles with us, no issues.
