smeyer418 Posted May 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2004 LLOYD Werft, the German repairer, is rumoured to have brought to an end its offer of cheap berthing for the idle cruise liner Norway... from headlines from Fairplay. so they either need to pay more, move it or work out an agreement as part of the Pride of America. I still don't know if the Depatment of Transportation has released it after the boiler explosion.
tef43 Posted May 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Does this *really* surprise you in any way? Eleven cruises so far. Up next: Shhhh, it's a surprise! Followed by: Carnival Valor 10/30/05 CC Group And then: Carnival Spirit 12/10/05 Mexican Riviera Perhaps something else as well. Watch this space. Dance like it hurts, love like you need money, and work when somebody's watching.

Globaliser Posted May 24, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Must be one of the great non-stories of the year. So long as there was a chance that Star might repair the ship - and therefore Lloyd Werft get a lucrative contract - it would have been worth their while to be geneous about berthing charges. Now that the poor ship is going off to a fate unknown, the shipyard doesn't exactly have any reason or incentive to give any more, particularly as they're still in receivership (as I understand it).
