charleylake Posted February 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2012 We are scheduled to arrive in Miami at 7 AM - When do we have to vacate our room? Can we have a leisurely breakfast in the dining room afterwards, as our flight is not until afternoon and we have no reason to rush off the ship. Certainly would not want customs calling our name?? Thanks for the Heads Up!
doubledobles Posted February 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2012 You will need to be off the ship by 9 a.m., at the latest, in order for the rooms to be turned over for the new passengers. I have disembarked in Miami and found a long line waiting for cabs and also no line, so it's catch as catch can. The drive to the airport is fairly short. You will only be called by customs if you purchase more than $800 on board the ship, other than that, just fill out the slip and hand it in. Have a good trip! Rare LHT28 Posted February 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2012 If you are not a US citizen you will have to report to immigration very early after arriving Breakfast closes @ 8am so no chance for a leisurely meal & no room service last morning cabins you need to be out by 8:30 am It depends on when the ship is cleared what time you will get off We have been off by 9am most times & not until 10:am on 1 cruise
jorich Posted February 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2012 We came off Marina last week. We aren't US citizens but we didn't have to report to Immigration at all, we just disembarked as did everyone else. They served breakfast in the Terrace cafe right up to 8.30 & it was still pretty full when we left at that time. We were the last group to disembark at 9am. If your flight is late afternoon you may want to consider a dayroom at the Sofitel near the airport for which we paid $107 & was worth every penny. We checked in there at 9.30am & spent the day lying by the pool & having lunch on the terrace before showering & changing & taking the hotel's free shuttle to the airport at 5.30pm.
