klfrodo Posted February 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2012 Not sure I understand the question. NO insurance company is going to pay for your airline ticket up front to the next port if you miss the ship. Most all insurance companies will reimburse you after the fact if you were delayed in route IAW the terms and conditions of the contract up to the maximum amount of coverage. So, are you asking which insurance company will pay up front? Or, are you asking which insurance company has the most lenient definition of trip delay or trip interruption? cruiseco Posted February 25, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2012 Asking which has the most lenient definition I like TravelSafe's Missed Connection benefit: "Missed Connection: If You miss Your cruise or tour departure because Your arrival at Your Trip destination is delayed for 3 or more hours, benefits will be paid, on a one-time basis, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount, for a) the Additional Transportation Cost to join the Trip and b) the unused portion of the prepaid expenses for land or water Travel Arrangements, due to: a) any delay of a Common Carrier (the delay must be certified by the Common Carrier); b) a documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure; c) quarantine, hijacking, Strike, natural disaster, terrorism or riot." 1) Covers ANY delay of a common carrier 2) Reasonable delay time -- 3 hours 3) Good coverage amount -- $2500 per person 4) Covers for the cost of the new air ticket plus reimburses you for the value of the night(s) of the cruise you're missing
Geo132 Posted March 14, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 14, 2012 Is this the Basic Plan?
cruiseco Posted March 14, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2012 Is this the Basic Plan? The Basic plan has the same wording but only a $500 benefit amount. Not enough in my opinion. The Classic plan has $2500.
