Hotel recommendation for Hamburg June7th

I am sure some of you will be doing the Queen Elizabeth two day trip from Southampton to Hamburg to celebrate the three Queens together for Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee extravaganza. We have an overnight in Hamburg with an early flight on June 8th back to America. Can anyone familiar with Hamburg recommend a hotel for this one night stay? Many thanks.

I just now noticed Roborab's similar post from Feb 15th and got most of my answers :) But if anyone would like to chime in with their favorite hotels that would also be appreciated.

Last time we stayed in Hamburg before our cruise on the QE we stayed in the Mercure Hamburg City which is not slap bang in the middle of town but is a 5 minute walk from the train station. The train takes about 5-6 minutes to get to the Hauptbahnhoff. I really liked it and they do some good deals.

We liked the Maritime Reichshof directly opposite the Hauptbahnhof. The area is a little, shall we say, louche just like every main railway station but it is interesting. It is a nice old style hotel and if it's only one night. I'd go for it.

Agreed! Also, the name translates to Four Seasons, but it is not a part of the chain. It's one of the best in Hamburg. Also, the Park Hyatt.
