Is Carnival really a low income cruise line?

Recommended Posts

Well said, trust me we are far from snobby people but at the same time I don't want to be around people cussing and getting drunk, etc etc.

I am not so much worried about it but my other half is now JUST because we are a Interracial Marriage. Have you guys noticed other similiar couples on the cruise?

My ex and I went on 2 Carnival cruises and we had no problem. We weren't the only interracial couple on board. You have to think, people come from all over to go on a cruise so even if there isn't a lot of interracial couples where you're from, they may be more on board.

Frankly I love the diversity of people that you get with Carnival. You get to meet people from all walks of life. Different ages, races, backgrounds, countries, etc.

Sailing on a great ship, visiting new islands and getting to know new and unique people.

That's what it's all about.

Some of our best dinners on Carnival have been with interracial couples! We've had a blast! I could care less what ole you my be as long as you are nice to me!

We love Carnival! We have cruised with Royal Carribean and have come across some not so nice folks!

A cruise is what you make out of it! We love to meet new people! Go and have a great time! You will love it!!!!

I am going on my second Carnival cruise in 10 days. We are a middle class, biracial family. I chose Carnival because of the price. I loved every minute of it. We are far from from low-class, which a lot of people seem to be comparing with low-income.

How would you even know someones income level? Low-class comes from all income levels. Look at some of the class-less comments on this thread. What are their income levels? Does it matter? Is a class-less billionaire better than a super-classy person who earns less than the poverty level? IJS... If people would stop making assumptions and stop stereotyping people, the world would be a better place.

Life is what you make it, whether it be a cruise, a land vacation, work, home life, etc. Very rarely do circumstances change a positive outlook unless you let it.

Go on your cruise and have a wonderful time. Maybe Carnival is for you, maybe not. You won't know until you try it for yourself. Either way, your income level, nor those around you will have any bearing on that. :)

I really need some feedback on this topic. Me and the misses were discussing a cruise that we booked with some friends last night and heard more than I expected in the negative field about Carnival.

I have no opinion as I have never cruised before on ANY cruise line but they way they explained to me on several situations how they were treated and also the class of people on board. I am not rich by any means but we did book a very nice 7 day trip for 2 just under $5k (which I thought I was really going all in).

Not sure if many of you guys have experienced Walmart at 11pm-4am, if you haven't, it's more than your human eyes can bear.

Hope I booked the right cruise.

BTW, it is the Magic that we booked. AND they told us we should have booked Celebrity.

WalkThaFreekinPlank,

Is Carnival really a low income cruise line? Carnival is our favorite so it must be; DW and I both work full time have three kids, a mortgage (For interest deduction), and we both have our taxes held out as if single with no dependants yet we still owe in excess of $25K in taxes by mid April. If not for the redistribution of wealth in this country I would say Carnival is for the wealthy, but until that happens Carnival is for us poor folk.

As for WalMart after midnight, I never notice anything out of the ordinary perhaps because I work in an ER and therefore I'm pretty well used to seeing those who suck my tax dollars right of my pocket. Noticing them at WalMart after midnight would be perhaps normal, but I've never ran into any of them on a cruise nor do I want to; the temptation to toss them to the fishes would be overwhelming and I would not resist. ;)

Regrettably we do sometimes encounter people on board who have the attitude that 'we are wealthy therefore we cruise,' but thankfully we are able to avoid them most of the time. Carnival is mostly people who enjoy cruises and know the value of their vacation dollars.

I have also encountered countless people who have been on a few cruises who turn their noses up when I answer Carnival when asked what line I am cruising. Without exception if asked whether they have sailed Carnival they have never stepped foot on a Carnival ship, but that doesn't stop them from forming opinions. Opinions formed in ignorance are amusing don't you think? :D

Celebrity does have some might fine ships and I don't think I've ever read anything about the line that wasn't nice. I like the big X on my Under Armour clothes, but on a ship not so much.

Specifically in regards to your booking, 5k for two on Carnival Magic. What category did you book? That sounds like one of those stearage cabins below the waterline.....

While I am now considered mid to greater middle-class, I improved up very insufficient in a one parent or guardian or guard or protected or protected house. Pointless to say, my first real vacation was with my "boyfriend" my now internet marketer.

Huh?

It was from a spammer. Now they aren't just posting their website in the sig line, but making an attempt (however dismal) to join in the conversation. Happens a lot late at night at seems - very few posts from a newbie trying to sell something.

I wouldn't be surprised if Carnival was the "low-income" cruise line. They've always had the lowest rates and that certainly must attract more "low-income' people than any other line. What's so unusual about that?

Some of the RICHEST people in the World are "low-income" people. That doesn't surprise me either. :D

Its not that it is for low income as such but it is like all cruise line best suited to people that like particular things. I used to sell cruises and so have been lucky to have been on lots of ships across lots of lines. For me, it isnt a line i would sail on. But that is because my idea of hell are childish competitions around the pool, singing waiters and chairs so close together, thousands of people and lining up for a buffet.

For me, a cruise falls into one of two catergories. Lots of sea days with a good book, peace and quiet and excellent food and swiming in a not overpacked pool. Or something that is very port intensive with most time spent wandering around a interesting city - European cruises are the best for this. In which case i just want a mode of transport but that is quiet on a night.

This isnt about money or class, it just what people enjoy. I have sold Carnival to some VERY wealthy and upper class people (Think people whose address i sent tickets to that included the term Caslte) and they had a great time. At the same time i have sold a coal miner who lived in public housing and had come into a bit of money and wanted a treat a cruise on Silver Sea and they loved it.

When LATIMES was investigating misuse of welfare cash cards, CCL was the cruise line that saw California welfare cards being used for cash withdrawls from the casino.

Replacing bands with rap music, high percentage of people with tats/piercings, grafitti carved into elevator glass, posters wanting to know how to pay with cash (credit deficient), cruisers posting that they don't have cash for last payment, is it a low cost cruise line? Just who do you think their main demographic is?

I think you can find low class, tacky people on any cruise line...it doesn't mean low income. How much money they make (or not) doesn't mean they ever learn how to behave out in public...and some people think because they are on vacation that all manners just go out the window....Carnival is affordable and I have enjoyed both times I sailed with them...I also have sailed Disney and Princess....all very similar experiences....mostly a great time...with a few jacka$$es sprinkled in here and there....just learn to ignore them..and enjoy your vacation
