carol1940 Posted March 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2012 I can't tell from the deck plan how big the casino is on Marina. I know it is small relative to other cruise lines but about how many slots and black jack tables are there. Any tournaments; promotions:)

JimandStan Posted March 1, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2012 I can't tell from the deck plan how big the casino is on Marina. I know it is small relative to other cruise lines but about how many slots and black jack tables are there. Any tournaments; promotions:) The Casino is basically two gaming rooms, separated by a small Bar area. There are four half round tables which alternate Three card, Texas Hold 'em, and Caribbean Stud, depending on demand, while another two cater to Twenty-one at various wager levels. In the evenings the Craps table opens, and there may be a regulation Poker table, if there are sufficient players. As you can see, slot machines ring both the rooms and they range from Penny Slots and up. My impression was that there were between 60 and 65 machines in total. There are sometimes promotions in the Casino, but the only type of tournament that I have ever heard of them offering was at one of the Poker games. Three Card seems to be particularly popular for that sort of thing. Slot Tournaments would be difficult because of the limited Space, but the upside is that the Casino is pristine, and the air quality is as clear as a bell. Nothing at all like Holl......er.......the competition!
YoHoHo Posted March 1, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2012 On Marina's MV there were several card tournments. I made my donation at a Blackjack tournament of which there were a couple plus at least one poker tournament. All very well attended. It is up to the Casino Manager what is offered and when so what is promoted on your sailing may vary. The slot machines that line the walkway between the main casino room and the 'purple bar' as can been seen in JimandStans post seemed to be a popluar spot for players. Perhaps a little more out of the way as the main area can get a little crowded with players sitting at the tables and the slot machines that ring the room. Or perhaps those were more intriguing machines.
oceanbill457 Posted March 1, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 1, 2012 I was on the Marina last summer. They had just initiated craps. They only had single odds which is not good for most players.
JimandStan Posted March 1, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2012 I was on the Marina last summer. They had just initiated craps. They only had single odds which is not good for most players. Oceania does not run the Casino, it is a concession run by Century Casinos, so I am sure that there is a method to their madness. You certainly can't call them novices. :o
oceanbill457 Posted March 2, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 2, 2012 I'm not sure what the comment about novices means. Most casinos offer better craps odds than those on Marina. Celebrity offers 3,4 and 5 times odds. Most craps players will understand the difference.
stuNYC Posted March 3, 2012 #8 Share Posted March 3, 2012 I can't wait to try my luck. It can't be worse than my luck "on land"
llvlp Posted March 6, 2012 #9 Share Posted March 6, 2012 Can anyone tell me what the table limits are in the casino? Particularly, what is the minimum for 3 Card Poker and Black Jack? Do they have $5 minimum tables?
