Is there a way to gather a ship's planned schedule for the cruise once on board?

I’ll admit it… I’m a little OCD when it comes to planning our cruises (or any vacation, really). The months and weeks leading up to our cruises I read and re-read, search and re-search these boards to find as many details as I can. Oh, the countless hours I have spent reading the Cruise Critic boards being informed, delighted and entertained!

Anyway, as wonderful and detailed the information is before we sail, there are just some details that I can’t find until the Princess Patters arrive in our cabin. There are many on-board events and activities that I would like to know about early so I can plan our agenda for the whole cruise and not miss something cool. After 5 Princess cruises there are some activities, menus and shows we've never enjoyed because of assumptions we made at the beginning of our cruises!

Here is a question I don’t think I’ve seen asked……

When we board our ship is there a way for passengers to see the daily schedules for the whole week?

Some of the things I’d like to know: nightly Princess Theater shows, BINGO times, Explorers Lounge entertainment, Skywalkers daily Happy Hour specials, MUTTS day and night schedule & theater movies too, Scholarship @ Sea topics & schedule, MDR breakfast, lunch & dinner menus for the week, and the Café Caribe theme nights, Crew demonstrations (martini’s, ice sculptures), Pool events, wine tasting……….

All I’m asking for is to preview the Princess Patters and all the menus for the week we’re sailing! :DLOL…… yes, I see I have issues!.......but really shouldn't there be an App for that!

Hi There

The ship has a week planner,

it is made up of info of all depts,

it lists the menus by title, movies, shows, ships drills etc

it is not given to passengers as a rule,

however you can always ask the CD or their assistant to list out of the weeks events for you .

Thank you Shogun. I will ask and see what they will provide!

The first day's Patter will list all major entertainment for the entire cruise. It will list all the shows and their names, including comics, singers, etc. It won't generally tell you when, just what to anticipate.

I know you are looking for the whole week at once, but our ritual is to pore over the next days activities each night before bed. We are armed with our highlighter and highlight everything we want to do the next day. Still pre planning, but only a day at a time :)

Hi There

If you get a chance to see any of the ships drills its worth taking the time to watch if you can,

things like man over board etc,

been onboard when they did a power cut, only thing that did not go out was the casino,

you have never seen darkness until you have been inside a ship with no lights.

IF you are doing a cruise that repeats - and it is doing the same itinerary a cruise or two ahead of yours you might go on the Roll Calls for the earlier cruises and ask someone to save and send you the Patters - things don't change much if at all. For example we just did a cruise on another cruise line (I know - I'm sorry) and it only does that itinerary once every 4-5 weeks - BUT our daughter is doing it on the same ship in July - so we saved and sent her the daily papers.

Hehe Shogun. Oddly, I HAVE seen darkness like that. Used to survey caves, as well as explore new ones, for the Tennessee Geological Society. We had an event every year where we went into a certain cave well known to us all. We would go deep in, then shut off all lights, and scramble to see who could find their way out in total darkness. Fun as could be! And it improves your sense of direction no end, I think.

Back to cruising: How would we find out about the drills? Sounds interesting.

Hi There

Most drills happen during the day when passengers are ashore, things like power out etc are done mostly on turn around days when there are very few passengers onboard, all drills the ship tells passengers onboard a few minutes before the drill, but to know what is coming up on your cruise you need to ask a crew member,
