About Acupuncture

I just read where Celebrity is adding acupuncture facilities to selected cruises.

Does anyone know which ones?

I'd really like to try this out. I read somewhere that being stuck in the right place with a needle is better for relaxation and/or soothing tired muscles than massage.

Can you just see coming back from an exhausting shore trip where you had to do a lot of walking over cobblestones and high steps and getting stabbed with a needle for relief from aches and pains?

You would think they put it on all the Millie ships and one of the Century class ships that stays in the Caribbean.

Next - Millennium - The wait begins anew.

There is a link at the top of this page, that says which ones.

I'm not sure if I want to be stabbed in the back on a cruise though. I can get that at work for free

Well, I tried to find some information to help you. Here is what I found out.
I first called the Celebrity's Captain's Club 800 number. The first rep I talked with was rather impatient and she told me to get to the point of my question. After she put me on "hold" a few times, she finally got back on and said she was just needling me because I sounded like a big pr*ck.
I tried to do a Yahoo search on "acupuncture." I got a message back that said that trying to find this subject was like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Hope this helps!
Les

Thanks Phil for leading me to the information about which ships do acupuncture. I am so excited that the Millie is one of them.

I get regular acupuncture to help control my migraine headaches. I was VERY skeptical at first(and concerned about the pain), but it works for me and it is not painful. The needles are mega thin and if the acupuncturist is good, then it feels like a little tingling sensatinson when it is put in, otherwise you may feel nothing. After all the needles are in, they usually leave them in for up to 20-30 minutes. It does feel better than getting an hour long message. The acupuncturist may ask you what you are looking to do, such as loose weight, increase fertility, or relieve stress. He may also take you pulse in 2 places and ask you to stick out your tongue. I can't wait to try it out on the ship and see how well they do.
