Confirm Piper served on the 3rd September Onward cruise. Really liked it. Phil

Frankly that's a really bad admission and not Azamara at all. Quite surprised he'd say that. Phil

I do agree with you. The food in the MDR was delicious every night and the menus tempting and of course more varied than the specialties. We did go to Prime C for us to share the chateaubriand for two and Aqualina when we were invited there, but to be honest the service was not special enough to warrant a $50 fee (we had a lot of onboard credit though). Also, the wine service in the MDR was way better and the service equal. Phil

That was exactly my feeling from the same cruise. And I have never come across a more aloof or unfriendly captain before. It will be going on my post cruise survey. The wait staff, bar servers, baristas etc were their usual friendly and cheerful selves. Food was excellent I thought. From every venue. Phil

I also understand they are looking at a revised Aqualina menu too because it's been noticed that the most popular dish ie Dover Sole has been removed which is crazy. Less adjustment to the Prime C steakhouse menu. Phil

White Night food on Onward three weeks ago was like chalk and cheese compared to Journey in March. Much better. Food overall was improved. My understanding is that they have upped the spend. Phil

Totally agree. So pleased to see her progress. Sadly I've just missed her, getting off Onward yesterday. The food in the MDR was the best I can remember. We never had a bad meal. Sri is doing a good job. Phil -

This is a good summary. I tried Azamara 12 or so years ago after quite a number of Celebrity and very much enjoyed the experience of the smaller ship. I haven't been back to Celebrity very much and when I have I've been left disappointed with the service. The music around the ship that ranged from annoying background to just plain loud also drove me away. Azamara is my happy place. Phil

Some will always focus on the negatives. I have never ever had an issue. They do their best. Phil

No, you are wrong. Your situation was different. You're wife wasn't well. Normally no. Can you imagine if all the CC Suites asked? Phil
-
Yes, that's what I meant. Big suites only. I think part of the fun (and taste) of the Specialty food is to have it served in the restaurant itself. Phil

That's what I understand it to be. And a little notice is requested too. Phil

Onboard Activities During Country Intensive Cruises
excitedofharpenden replied to Mackdogmolly's topic in Azamara
Do you think there's a better way of arranging the trivia? Given that depending upon who is on the cruise it's sometimes much more popular. I don't think there is a perfect answer. Phil -
And I think it's much better. I never wanted the rum or whisky so they always managed to swap it, but this was probably a pain if everyone did it. As the saying goes, you can please some of the people all of the time......It's an amenity gesture. Nice to have, but for me it's never been an essential. You never have to walk far to a bar. Phil

Onboard Activities During Country Intensive Cruises
excitedofharpenden replied to Mackdogmolly's topic in Azamara
Personally I think they make the best of it that they can, given the number of venues on the ship. They seem to do the morning trivia in the Living Room and afternoon in The Den. Azamara being destination focused, they think that many people will be off the ship. The progressive trivia held on the more sea day heavy cruises (that as Toronto guy says can get pretty serious) stays in the show lounge. Not sure what else they can do. Phil -

Does Azamara Make Blended Drinks (Smoothies) For Health Reasons?

I think your request for Dom Perignon on the side pushed it over the edge. Phil -
Does Azamara Make Blended Drinks (Smoothies) For Health Reasons?
excitedofharpenden replied to N 2 Sun's topic in Azamara
There is a smoothies bar open in the morning in Windows buffet. The special needs form is a great idea. You know what I'd also do? Go and see one of the Maitre d's in charge there at the start (they'll be wearing a suit) and just explain to them as well. My experience is that they will be delighted to help you and put your mind at rest. Phil -

excitedofharpenden replied to KevintheIrishDJ's topic in Azamara
She's due out tomorrow. You can keep an eye on her on Marine Traffic. The shipyards work to very tight schedules and have to pay compensation for late delivery, so they'll be wanting to get Pursuit out on time. Phil -
Senior officers at the moment - post what you know
excitedofharpenden replied to excitedofharpenden's topic in Azamara
I believe Captain Gianmario, Tatiana Morello as HD, Tine Shlls as loyalty manager, Tanya Roberts as CD. Those are the only ones I'm sure of. Phil -
My only suggestion would be to limit the number of nights one could pre-book on embarkation day to say two on shorter cruises and three or maybe four on longer ones. Other than that the system works OK as far as I'm concerned. Phil
