If I have to choose... Florence or Pisa?

Well, I have the same dilemma since Celebrity has picked La Spezia as their port for Solstice. I am hoping for a bus trip to florence then DIY for a few hours.

Anyone know if the cruise lines have done bus transports at La Spezia??

Hi Happy Cruzer,

We are on the same cruise. We want to go to Florence too but we may change the plan if it take about 2.30 hours by train. We still try to decide what we want to do on this port.

Happy Cruzer & Travelbug, if Florence is important to you you'll really need to find either an organized tour, hire a car service, or rent a car and drive yourself. By road it's about two hours each way, by train it's two and a half to three hours each way and all itineraries require changing trains in Pisa. The extra hour or two (or three) that the train requires would reduce your time in Florence to only four hours or so.
