I know there are a lot of different feelings about Ken Rush, but when we sailed with him on Allure, he seemed tired, disinterested and ready to retire. But, everyone can have a bad cruise.

 

He's been at it for so long that I just can't help but wonder what that point is when it just catches up to you and you need an extended break!

Ricky Williams is the best, most talented and least annoying Cruise Director we have ever saild with. Richard Spacey was next and he said he was trained by Ricky Williams.

Sorry, I thought I had answered this. ChipLondon's answer is correct.

 

Rich is funny, not in your face. I can't speak to boring because I find alot of the events boring since I've been there/done that so much.

 

Since I already know him, I was able to have a few private conversations about some of the things he did vs other CDs. When I had specific suggestions, he tried every one of them.

 

I would not hesitate to take a cruise with him as CD. Enjoy yours!

Does anyone know who will be the cruise director on Freedom of the Seas after Frbruary, 2013? We are sailing on her in May, 2013? Or is this too soon to find out? Just curious. Thanks.

 

 

It's too soon...they usually don't know this far in advance. Keep an eye on this thread though, and I'll update as soon as I find the info!

Brilliance OTS - Paul Lancaster *started 3/31 (when is his break and who will be the next CD)

 

Enchantment OTS - Keith Williams started May 17. John Blair returning from his break on July 12.

 

Explorer OTS - Leigh Xuereb started June 7. Richard Spacey expects to return to EX at the end of July/beginning of August, but hasn't received official notification of his next assignment yet.

 

Freedom OTS - Graham Seymour *off July 29th returning Sept 30th. Staying through to Feb 13th 2013 *Drew Devine covering Graham's break (Confirmed by Graham himself on this thread 4/29 post #307 and #309)

Just off Adventure today:mad:

 

Warren is on the ship for the next 3 weeks. Then he goes to Navigator for 4 weeks.

 

Jerome Sueur is the 'Cultural Director' on the ship which is a new position in RC (may be just for this particular itinerary as I have never heard of one before and it's not the Activities Director as there was one) and he will be the CD for 2 weeks when Warren leaves and then Abel Jeney will be back from vacation.

 

Watch out for Jerome - sure to be a full-fledged Cruise Director in the future.

Paul Lancaster is going for his vacation at the end of July, confirmed today as we've just disembarked Brilliance. Btw, to those that asked what he was like, we thought he worked well with his team. We thoroughly enjoyed participating in some of their new activities.

Hello from the Vision of the Seas!

We have a female captain on board, her name is Lis Lauritzen, she was born and raised in Copenhagen and is half Japanese and half Danish. She now calls Portugal home.

Mike Hunnerup from Adelaide, Australia is our Cruise Director. He has been with RCL since 2000 and started in a Cruise Director Staff position.

Franz Litzner from Austria, is the Food and Beverage Manager

Jorge Lyncy from Costa Rica is the Hotel Director

Nicola Cerjan is the Chief Engineer on board from Dubrovnik, Croatia

and Pablo Toscano is the Loyalty & Cruise Sales Manager, he is from Buenos Aires.

 

This is the 741st cruise for the Vision of the Seas. There are 775 crew members on board. The country with the most passengers is Norway, with 1217, then the US has 209 on board, there are 195 from Portugal, 45 from the UK and 33 from South Africa (those are the top 5 countries represented on the ship).

Mariner OTS - Carly Boileau until August

 

Monarch OTS - Marc Walker until Sept. 14. Marc will return Nov. 16 until April 2 when Monarch leaves the fleet. (who will be filling in as CD during Marc's break Sept 14 through Nov 16?)

 

Navigator OTS - Simona Ferraiuolo *Warren Allen returns on 6/30 for 4 weeks.

 

Oasis OTS - Amy Fickert *started 6/9

 

Radiance OTS - Paul Rutter from May 11 until August 31. Bobby and Becky Brown will be returning from their break on Aug 29

 

Rhapsody OTS - Patrick Richard *Anna Bass starts in mid-June (Can someone confirm the changeover date) until July 27

 

Serenade OTS - Rich Edwards *April 14 through June 22; then Ricky Matthews

 

Splendour OTS - Bill Brunkhorst for the spring/summer season in Europe. João Pereira returns for the fall/winter season in South America

 

Vision OTS - Mike Hunnerup

 

Voyager OTS - Gordon Whatman *started on 30th April
