Playing games in the NCL Spirit card room

I'm leaving on the 14th for a 2 week cruise with a group of friends and I'm wondering about the games they mention in the card room. They write, "test your skill with chess, checkers, Scrabble and more."

 

I'm wondering, what is the more? Do they have cards or other fun group games? Has anyone been in there to play games? I'm hoping to not have to bring any of my own.

There are quite a few board games in there. There have been no "organized" games on any of the Spirit cruises I've taken. If you want to play, it's up to you to find players. Can't remember all of the games in there or how complete they are, but there were many a couple of months ago.

I've seen Chinese Checkers, cribbage, yatzee and backgammon. They also have Sudoku and daily crossword puzzles (copies of so get them early). I also remember some kids ones like Candy Land.

It wasn't on the Spirit, but I did see a Jenga game on the SUN. Sometimes I wonder if people bring games and then don't want to bring them back home so they leave them for others to enjoy. (sort of like the book exchange).

I have taken groups on several NCL cruises. They take their own cards and dominos, but I think the ship has some available. I can always find some of my group in there playing.

I remember my mom and I walked through the games room a couple of times on the Sun and there were people playing dominos and another table playing ma jong (they were there for a long time). We never ended up playing but it was a nice space.

Just off the Spirit today and they had all of the above mentioned plus Monopoly and Clue

hmmm, wonder what the staff reaction would be to a full cash game being played? Always up for a good poker game, lol, but some in my group insist that the electronic table is "rigged" to prevent anyone from winning too much....and then there is the rake. A "friendly" cash game in the game room could be fun!

Just wish they had some fun newer games, like Apples to Apples or Balderdash.
