credit card or cash?

Will the local stores in Grand Cayman (and Ochos Rios) take american credit cards. I would think so but want to make sure. Is MC/Visa better than AMerican Express or does it matter. Thanks.

I have never had a problem using my debit card in Cayman, Jamaica or Cozumel.

Don't know about Amex....that's not as widely accepted as Mc/Visa. Yes..they will all take either American dollars or credit cards.

VISA and Master card are the most widely accepted in Cayman, a few places do not accept Amex.

 

A card like the American Express Platinum or various Capital One Visa or Master Cards are best. They do not charge "foreign transaction fees" for USD based charges originating in places other than the US.
