Driving in Molde

Does anyone have experience with picking up a rental car in Molde, coming from a cruise ship (Celebrity)? We would like to dribve to Mt. Varden for a little hiking, as well as to go out the Atlantic Ocean Road...

Does anyone have experience with picking up a rental car in Molde, coming from a cruise ship (Celebrity)? We would like to dribve to Mt. Varden for a little hiking, as well as to go out the Atlantic Ocean Road... Nina

 

We have not done a rental car in Molde, but we have done rental cars at three different locations along these wonderful Norway coastal locations. The good news is that the roads and bridges are in wonderful condition, well-marked, well-maintained, etc., in Norway. Molde is a town of only 25,000 and should be fairly easy to manage, etc.

 

If this is your first cruise on one of the Celebrity Solstice-type ships, you're in for a treat. You can see more details and visuals below from my live/blog on both these ships and for along the Norway Coast and fjords. What other ports will you be visiting? Going to super-charming Bergen??

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip.
