Charges on Med cruise

For onboard charges for a Mediterranean cruise, are onboard accounts settled in euros or American dollars?? Anyone know??

You will be charged in U.S. currency.

I got something in a gift shop on the Med cruise, and the charge was in US dollars and Euro. I asked the cashier, she couldn't explain, I talked to the manager.

 

He said, the price in Euro is for our information only, the currency of the ship is US dollars, and this is how my credit card will be charged. And it was true.

 

So no doubt, it's US $$$.

Be aware that, depending upon the itinerary, you may be charged Spanish VAT (8%) on your onboard spending. :eek:
