ian moore Posted March 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2012 I am planning to do a Princess California costal cruise next May,2013. Ports of call include Los Angeles,San Francisco,San Diego,Santa Barbara,Vancouver,Victoria,Astoria,Ensenada,Catalina Island. I am wondering what the weather is like in May in this part of the world. Is it hot,dry or cooler? We like heat on our holidays and we are worried that it may be too cool. We know San Francisco will be moderate but what about the rest of the itinerary? Anyone done this cruise in May? Any help would be much appreciated. Ian Moore
paul929207 Posted March 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2012 You may want to check one of the online Weather sites. They have average highs and lows.
Cobraman Posted March 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2012 Can't speak for the more northern ports of call, and it all depends on what you call "heat", but generally you will see 60-70 degree temps in May; sometimes a bit warmer. Mornings in those ports will be 40-50 degrees.
Sandpiper13 Posted March 18, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2012 We've done this coastal cruise several times and while we love the cruise it definitely isn't a warm climate cruise. From San Francisco north u will notice a drop in the temperature. Not trying to discourage you but it isn't the Carribean that's for sure!
tfrcal Posted March 18, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2012 In early May, Santa Barbara and LA are likely to be on the cool side but that being said it could be 80 in LA and 70 in SB. SB will be cooler than LA and it will continue that way as you head north. Just a few weeks ago we had 80 plus temps and two days later it was 65. Tedferg Posted March 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 18, 2012 http://www dot americanexpressweather dot com/ Here is a neat weather site, name location and date range, it gives last three years temperarures, rain etc. Note you need to edit the link to make dots periods and remove extra spaces. I think CC blocks weblinks http://www.americanexpressweather.com/ here is the actual link in case they do not block.
