SuzieQK Posted April 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2005 Which would be better scenery wise? -the early morning White Pass RR at around 8am or the 12:30 one? Thanks!
wolfie11 Posted April 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2005 The scenery doesn't really change between morning and afternoon. However, mornings can tend to be foggier in the mountains. I would say whatever fit in best with your schedule. If you plan on visiting the stores or museum in Skagway, mornings are probably less crowded. Budget Queen Posted April 24, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2005 The pm tour gives you a chance to head to the Park Service visitor center. The information there can really enhance your later train trip. But as above, go with what fits your time frame best. http://www.nps.gov/klgo/schedule.htm
anniecat Posted April 25, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2005 we will be on the september 19 port stop on the Summit. since it is late in the year...does it matter whether early or late for the Whitepass railroad trip. I'm thinking later might be slightly warmer, but ...what do you think? thanks
Budget Queen Posted April 25, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2005 Little difference, pick what fits your timeframe best. :)
fsdj1097 Posted April 25, 2005 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2005 We have pre-booked a couple of tours on our own to avoid sell-outs. Would we be safe waiting to book the White Pass Railway after boarding the cruiseship? I guess what I'm asking is does this tour sell out? Thanks for your replies. Budget Queen Posted April 25, 2005 #7 Share Posted April 25, 2005 Yes the ship contracted train usually has availability for this tour at the shore excursion desk.
