A quick ES question.

 

We sail in 3 weeks and are booked under ES. One cabin is priced by a military rate ( but still an ES)- Cat 4d. Tonite the military rate is $90 less, but is a 4e instead. No cat 4 ds are showing under military.

 

I put in a price protection request for the $90 but asked not to be upgraded, I'd like to keep our rooms together.

 

Can we get it?

I'm pretty sure that it has to be the same category. Yours may not be showing bc it may be sold out.

 

There's no hurt in trying though!

I think it has to be the same category to get OBC, otherwise you can upgrade but no OBC for a higher category. Several people lately have been saying they've been denied in this case. No harm in trying, though, you never know.

Well for $90 I may take the upgrade and the OBC, I'll wait and see if they deny it or not.

Read the FAQ for ES on Carnival website. Everything has to be the same. I just had my TA apply for drop in price. There are a lot of restrictions and it is not automatic.

Not sure if they'll let you stay put and get obc, but if you're willing to do the upgrade, they will indeed let you upgrade AND get the OBC!

If you're booked ES and a category higher than yours drops below your ES rate, you should be able to Upgrade AND get the OBC - the Policy is that you HAVE to upgrade, but it seems to be 50/50 whether they enforce this or not! Post your results? ken

I got the ship board credit and they didn't make me change my room. So far my SBC total is over $700.

With ES--always give it a shot! There is no downside, the worst they can do is turn you down. I have gotten a few ES claims approved that I thought had no shot, so go for it!
