thehebrewhoya Posted December 23, 2018 #26 Share Posted December 23, 2018 Hi, new user here, so hopefully I don't break any rules. ;-) I am looking at the 9th deck of Radiance. The agent I spoke with suggested the rooms right as the bump-out begins actually do feel more spacious than the ones in the middle. Can anyone give their opinion for staterooms 9590, 9588, 9586, and 9584? It looks like 9592 would be biggest and 9588 would be smallest, but deckplans can be deceiving and I don't know what that means for 9590 and 9586. Would really appreciate your help! Thanks!! Biker19 Posted December 23, 2018 #27 Share Posted December 23, 2018 (edited) Welcome to CC. Any of the hump ones would be fine and likely little diff between them. 9578/80 is where the hump begins - you probably would want to see forward more than aft and may save a bit of money by the lower category cabin (2B vs 1B). Search for those hump cabins in Youtube, the videos may give you a sense of the space. Edited December 23, 2018 by Biker19
thehebrewhoya Posted December 23, 2018 #28 Share Posted December 23, 2018 Thanks, Biker! Actually all of the bump rooms are the same cost for the cruise I'm looking at (same as the main corridor, too). The agent suggested one more aft as a windbreak, since we'll be traveling in Alaska. I'll check out YouTube; good suggestion. Does anyone else want to weigh in and teach me something? ;-)

thehebrewhoya Posted December 24, 2018 #30 Share Posted December 24, 2018 Thanks, Clarea. I guess I was naïve to think the ship would be nonsmoking!

The casino is the defacto smoking lounge. There are times when smoke comes out of the casino and up the centrum.

I know the recent poster is booking in Alaska and it won't apply there, but if someone is asking about an Aussie sailing, the feedback might be different, no? To my knowledge, Aussie sailings are still smoke free inside. Possibly UK sailings too.

They are also E-3 in the same location just one deck down. Thanks Bill Yes,both of those cabins have tiny balconies. We were in 8588 over thanksgiving, and listened to the couple in 8590 grouse about how tiny their balcony was, and looking down to 7596 below us, we could see why. They are pie shaped, and barely enough room to fit the chairs and table.

I looked at the deckplan and the 9th deck is numbered differently, of course. 9590 isn't above 8590, and looks like it cheats out into the hallway, to allow a normal/bigger balcony than the rooms on the 8th deck do. Can anyone comment on the 9th deck specifically, and whether it's better to be in the curvature or midpart of the hump? Thanks 🙂

The balconies at the edge of the hump on deck 9 are slightly larger than the ones on decks 7 and 8, but they're still pie shaped. The biggest balcony cabins on that class of ship (other than the ones all the way in the stern of the ship) are 7094, 7108, 8088, 8102, 9078, and 9092 . Hope everyone reading had a nice Christmas (if you celebrate) or day in general otherwise. 😉

The rest of the hump balconies on deck 9 are all about the same size.
