B1 to D2 on Allure, upgrade or downgrade?

Is going from a B1 to a D2 considered an upgrade or a downgrade?

Specifically, I have a B1 booked for the end of April at $1299 pp. Today the D2's are coming in at $999. Can I switch? Would the money come back as OBC if its considered an upgrade? Or b/c we're past final payment it would be a wash?

Definitely an upgrade - but it depends where you want to be.

B1 is a Boardwalk View Stateroom with Balcony.

D1 is a Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Large Balcony.

So, do you want to view the ocean or the boardwalk?

No money or OBC back because it's past final payment.

Enjoy!!

Unless you have one of the last BW balconies overlooking the aquatheatre, I would prefer to have the oceanview balcony and would make the switch.

None of that matters....because they aren't going to allow the upgrade anyway due to the Sales Event Pricing;)

I am pretty sure that's a Royal Caribbean Sales Event price....which means new resi's only....so they aren't going to allow an upgrade.....and yes...a B1 to a D2 is considered an upgrade.

Ah- it does say "exclusive". I thought I had a good deal last month when I booked compared to our sailing on Oasis 2 years ago but wow, $999/ d2 is crazy good for new bookings.

Maybe the W guarantee ($1799) will drop a little and I'll move to that.

Even if it's a special Sales Event Pricing....they will allow an upgrade...BUT...only if it's more money...they will not if it's cheaper....and it usually will require escalating it up to resolutions to make it happen....but again the price has to be more.

The W guarantee has been steady at $1799 for weeks.

I do have a great B1, 11729.

Originally booked a XN @$1099, assigned a C1, threw it back and upgraded to the B1 at $1299. Had hoped to be assigned a B1 for my guarantee and then move within the B1's. That's guarantees though. Still happy.

I have never seen so many price changes in all my cruises. Odd to say the least.
