Taking Soda on the Ship?

Was thinking of taking just a 6 pack of coke in my luggage. The coke cards are so expensive. Anyone know if it is okay to do this. I know you can't take beer, whiskey or wine, but is soda ok?

We do it all the time. They have never said anything or they just have never caught it. We pack it in our luggage, not the carry on.

Before our Enchantment cruise, I e-mailed RCCL with that question. They said I could take on a "reasonable" amount, which they defined as around a 12-pack. So, I think you would be fine with your 6-pack of soda.

I cannot stand coke, which puts me in a dilemma on these cruises. When we stopped at St. Maarten I brought on some cans of pepsi....no problems!

They don't care if you bring soda or bottled water on board. As far as putting the 6-pack in your luggaage, have you weighed the risk in case one of those cans opens up.

We always buy a couple of bottles of Coke in the first port we stop at, which saves us from having to pack it. Never had any problem walking on the ship with it.

After docking in Hawaii I went to Wal-Mart and bought a 12 pack of Pepsi, just walked through security didn't have to hide it at all.

i've brought on soda, water, and even pomello (a citrus fruit like a grapefruit) as carry on and none of the security people said a thing, besides "what is that? i love grapefruit! Sure i'd love to try some!"

 

i didnt bring as much as the guy in front of me, he had a whole case of 24 one liter water bottles in his arms. no one said anything to him either.
