flyingandcruising Posted April 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2012 We are thinking of going on the summit from NYC to Bermuda in early July. Can anyone tell me what the waves are like in the Atlantic between those ports at that time of year, assuming there is no hurricane presence. Thank you. flowers44 Posted April 5, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2012 You are crossing the Gulf Stream in the Atlantic to get to Bermuda. As has been said, it is really the luck of the draw. We have been there about four times. Any where from calm seas to 27' waves coming home last November. No way of knowing. There doesn't have to be a hurricane to have rough waters in the Atlantic. Take your Bomine tablets and hang onto the handrails.
fishinjunkie Posted April 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2012 Went last year first week of July- smooth sailing on the way there- rough on way back but the island is beautiful and we booked again for July 8th this year.

wbrumel Posted April 9, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 9, 2012 Have made this crossing a half dozen times. Only once was it rough. Go and enjoy this beautiful island.
Highlander1 Posted April 9, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2012 Impossible to predict, one day is calm the next day is rough, that can be said for almost anywhere cruise ships sail. Probably the best time for Bermuda, before hurricane season, weather is warm, only issue is you'll have lots of kids onboard. Its a great trip, don't hesitate. fishinjunkie Posted April 11, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 11, 2012 If you decide to go- register for connections party and if like last year you will get extra tour of bridge and galley.
fishinjunkie Posted April 11, 2012 #9 Share Posted April 11, 2012 We didn't have that many kids on board- not like other cruises. i have a teenager and never saw her because of the great teen program.

family cruisers Posted April 21, 2012 #11 Share Posted April 21, 2012 We cruise to bermuda every year. Only once did we encounter really rough seas. Up to 30 foot swells for a full day and 1/2. That didn't stop us as we've been back since then and again this year. Bermuda is an Island everyone should see. It has the friendliest locals, very clean island and the most beautiful beaches anywhere. So much to see and do. Just bring your bonine and sea bands incase . sivyaleah Posted April 22, 2012 #12 Share Posted April 22, 2012 Both times I've sailed to Bermuda, the sailing was smooth. Once early May, the other was late August. We sail again in a couple of weeks. Hopefully it will be as easy as the last 2 times.
